Universal Delays UK Release Of ‘Ticket To Paradise’

With the world still reeling from the loss of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, Universal has made the decision to delay the UK release of its upcoming romantic comedy film, Ticket To Paradise in honor of the Queen.

Directed by Ol Parker, Ticket To Paradise follows the story of two divorced parents who travel to Bali to keep their daughter from marrying a local she has just met. Veteran actors Julia Roberts and George Clooney play the divorced parents, Georgia and David while Kaitlyn Dever plays their daughter Lily.

Ticket To Paradise was originally set for a September 16 release in the UK but in the wake of the Queen’s passing, its release has now been set for September 20 – after the Queen’s funeral.

In a statement made by a spokesperson for Universal to Deadline, the decision was reached by all parties involved “out of respect to the royal family”.

“With the passing of Her Majesty the Queen, Universal, Working Title, Julia Roberts, George Clooney and director Ol Parker have all decided to delay the opening of Ticket To Paradise in the UK until after the Queen’s funeral out of respect to the Royal Family and the people of Great Britain and Northern Ireland”
