The Ooni of Ife Oba Ogunwusi, has remarried nine months after his ex Queen Silekunola Naomi announced their separation.

A video posted to Twitter by the monarch’s spokesperson Moses Olafare, shows that guests included the Ooni’s older brother, Sooko Adegboyega Ogunwusi and the bride’s relatives from Ebiraland in Kogi State and Ilorin in Kwara State.

This is the Ooni’s fourth marriage with his marriage to Naomi which lasted three years, producing a son, Prince Tadenikawo.

In a lengthy Instagram post announcing the end of her marriage, she revealed that it did not work out because Hi Majesty “has a picture he would love the world to see and perceive him as and another one which is his true self.”

“I did my best to endure and make it work; many times, I smiled through the struggle, but I have finally realised I had just one assignment, my son, and when God is done, He is done. He chose Saul to be king, and when He was done, He told the prophet Samuel I have moved on. Religion was never an issue between us,” she explained.

Oba Ogunwusi’s  first marriage was in 2008 before he became king of Ife. He married Adebukola Bombota but the marriage ended after a few years.

Then in 2016 after becoming king, he married Olori Wuraola Zainab whom he divorced in 2017.
