Chioma Goodhair Faces Backlash Over Her Tribute To The Queen

Real Housewives of Lagos star Chioma Goodhair has been criticized for praising the queen as an inspiration and a “determined girl boss” in a tribute to her.

The entrepreneur was branded cringe and ignorant  for the now-deleted Instagram post in which she compared the late monarch who’s death has divided opinions all over the world, to hardworking businesswoman all over the world.

“You may not agree entirely with the Queen or even the idea of the monarchy but please give grandma Liz her flowers,” she wrote on Instagram.

“The woman has ruled for an entire seventy years and I’m here for it. Having being a determined girl boss for the past 13 years I know how hard it can be in society as a woman.

“We have to work twice as hard to be taken half as seriously- it’s no small feat. So let’s give credit where it’s due and in the case flowers to Queen Elizabeth- the original SHE-E-O.

“And as a matter of fact, shoutout to all the girl bosses out there unapologetically doing their thing an getting it. I’m proud of you.

“Tag your favourite girl boss and give her her flowers today! Today I’m tagging my amazing business partner and sister @kikagoodhair.”

Her comment section was soon flooded with comments from users who did not agree with her views about the queen.

The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral on Thursday, bringing an end to the longest reign in British history. She was also the world’s oldest head of state and more widely travelled than any other world leader.

Born Princess Elizabeth Elizabeth Alexandra Mary in in London on 21 April 1926, she became Queen in 1952 at the age of 25, when her father, King George VI, died.

A period of national mourning has begun across the UK and is expected to last until the funeral in ten days time.

In the meantime, major sporting events like football are expected to be postponed as a mark of respect for the beloved monarch.
