‘Arcane’ Bags Netflix’s First Ever Emmy For Outstanding Animated Program

Animated television series Arcane continues to be smashing hit for Netflix setting new records for the streaming service and achieving feats never done before. Over the weekend, Arcane picked up an Emmy Award for Outstanding Animated Program, making it the first animated series from a streaming service to do so.

The League of Legends television series had quite the competition as well, beating Rick and Morty, Bob’s Burgers and Marvel’s What If to clinch the award. Following the win, the team behind the series took to twitter to share a few words commemorating the achievement.

”Honored doesn’t even begin to describe how we feel about winning the #Emmy for Outstanding Animated Program. Thank you to our incredible team at @RiotGames and Fortiche, the @TelevisionAcad, and the greatest fans (yes, you) for making this possible”

Arcane was released to massive critical success in November 2021 picking up multiple awards and becoming an instant favorite to both longtime fans and strangers to the League of Legends video game.

A second season is scheduled for a post 2022 release.
