Sony Music Publishing opens in Nigeria, appoints Godwin Tom as managing director


Global music powerhouse Sony Music Publishing has announced the expansion of its operations across Africa with the opening of a new Lagos, Nigeria office. In light of this, the company has appointed creative executive Godwin Tom as Managing Director, reporting to President, International Guy Henderson.

Godwin, who was the CEO of the popular talent management company, iManage Africa, has worked with some of the biggest names such asWizkid, Davido, MI, Wande Coal and so on in the music industry.

Speaking on his appointment, Godwin said: “I am honoured and humbled by the opportunity to work for the No. 1 music publisher in the world. Africa has so much talent, culture and uniqueness to share with the rest of the world and I am excited to be a part of the incredible global network of teams that will help build a home for Africa’s best songwriters.”
