Man Utd launch last-ditch transfer bid for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and aim to snatch ex-Arsenal star from Chelsea

Manchester United are reportedly attempting to railroad Chelsea's pursuit of Barcelona star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The Blues have been in advanced talks with Barcelona and Aubameyang over his potential switch to West London.

They've presented Barca with a final £17million offer after weeks of negotiations about his value.

A move to Stamford Bridge looked imminent as Aubameyang seemed keen to reunite with old Borussia Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel at Chelsea.

The 33-year-old even appeared to wave goodbye to Barcelona fans after putting in a stellar performance in the club's thrilling 3-3 draw against Manchester City.

But talks have hit a snag over personal terms between the two parties.

SunSport exclusively revealed that Aubameyang is seeking a two year deal, but the Blues are only looking to provide him a one-season contract due to his age.

However, Chelsea still hope they can find a compromise with the Gabon international before the transfer deadline.

But that won't be the case if the Blues' Premier League rivals Man United get their way.

The Red Devils are on also on the hunt for a new striker and have identified Aubameyang as the man to provide them with some firepower up-front, according to transfer guru Gianluca Di Marzio.

United's interest comes after they had a £76m bid for winger Anthony rejected by Ajax.

United are preparing for life without Cristiano Ronaldo who's poised to leave the club - if he can find a suitor.

Ronaldo's future at the club was thrown into more chaos when it emerged he was brutally axed for United's win over Liverpool by boss Erik ten Hag in front of the whole squad, as exclusively revealed by SunSport.
