Davido Melts Hearts With His Comments About Meeting Wizkid’s Mum


Singer Davido sparked reactions on social media after pictures of him and Wizkid’s mother Mrs Jane Dolapo  Balogun surfaced online.

The 29-year-old revealed that he helped her carry her bag at the airport, calling her a ‘amazing woman’ and a ‘first class citizen’

His comments melted hearts everywhere as he and her son are known rivals.

“Such an amazing Woman … God bless you ma …. D way I was carrying mommy’s bags today at the airport .. dem know say nah First class citizen,” he tweeted.

But Davido and Wizkid have opened up in the past about their close relationship with their mothers. Wizkid credited his mum’s Christian faith with teaching him about the importance of love.

“Growing up in a very spiritual home in Lagos really opened my mind. My dad is a Muslim, while my mum is a Christian,” he said in an interview with Flutterwave founder Olugbenga Agboola.

“I used to go to the mosque with my dad and go to the church with my mother. That really opened my mind to know that the biggest religion in life is love. Love is the biggest religion I follow. The most important thing to me is family.”

While Davido, who lost his mum at a young  age described his mother as his best friend in a 2021 interview with media personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu.

“I was about 10 to 11 years old when she died. She died on my father’s birthday,” he recalled

“Honestly, it was just cardiac arrest. Even if it was going to happen, I would not have known because I was about 10 or 11 years old. She was not really sick. She used to get sick once in a while but it was nothing serious.

“Before my mother died, I was a mummy’s boy because my father was always busy.

“He was working and always travelling to places like China. I was a mummy’s boy; so, imagine her just being taken from me, my best friend, the only person in the world I loved being taken from me without caution.”
